Chapter 2.: You're hiding something...

I was just outside when I saw Rose sneak up behind me. I didn't turn around to look at her when she said: ''What's the matter all of a sudden Damian? You don't usually act like this.''
''I need a few moments alone...'' I answered showing no expression.
''You're hiding something.'' she said walking in front of me making me look at her before adding: ''And I want to know what...''.

''I'm not hiding anything.'' I answered ''Now would you please give me a moment?''.
''I'm not leaving until you start being honest to me.'' She said crossing her hands. ''Now tell me what's the problem!''.
''You're my problem!'' I answered only to find Rose looking at me, not sure if surprised,sad or mad. ''R-Rose, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that...''.
''Let's just get this date over with.'' She said.
''Rose! I didn't mean it that way. I just, you look so beautiful and are so amazing and I-'' I said but right before I was about to tell her Victoria and Sarah walked over interrupting me.
''There you two are!'' Sarah said.
''We should get going so we don't miss our dinner reservation.'' Victoria said turning to her boyfriend.
''Are you two coming?'' Sarah asked us.
''Yes.'' Rose replied talking my hand. I wonder if she knows what I was going too say.
''Yay!'' Sarah said cheerfully.

Rose's POV

What was he going to say? He's acting weird today. Maybe he likes me... I mean likes likes me. I'll just try to find out on my own...
Sarah, Ray, Victoria, Brad, Damian and me were walking towards the restaurant. I was looking at Damian the entire time. The moonlight shined on the night's sky reflecting on his hair and face. This made me think even more about how cute he looked right now. He was smart, caring, compassionate, handsome, smart... And not to mention he's a good kisser. But I was snapped out of my fantasies as a cold breeze touched my skin.

I shivered just as I felt Damian's hand on my shoulder when he said warmly: '' Are you cold Rose?''. 
''A little...''  I whispered. He started taking off his jacket and putting it on me before saying: ''Better?''.
''But you'll get a cold...'' I replied because I didn't want him to get a cold.
''Don't worry about me.'' he replied warmly adding: ''You're much more important to me...''.

I stared at him, his dark eyes, black hair, that charming smile. He was as if he came out a fairy-tale. When we finally reached the restaurant and took our seats we ordered our meal and started chatting. We were chatting about all sorts of things. When our meal came we started eating. Nothing much happened really in the meantime until our deserts arrived. We had some cakes for deserts. Cherry! My favorite!

I turned to look at Damian before saying: ''Open wide.'' 
''Huh?'' Was all he said while blushing.
''Open wide sweetie.'' I repeated moving a bit closer to him.
''Ummm, o'right...'' he said before opening his mouth allowing me to put some cake in his mouth.  He kissed me earlier, now it's time for me to have some fun...
''Is it good?'' I asked.
''Yeah. It's sweet.'' he replied.
''Let me try.'' I said before I kissed him. I took a tiny peek at his face with my eye, his entire face was red, his heart was beating crazy, his eyes were wide open. It was kind of funny and cute that I could make him this way. After a minute I pulled away licking my lips while saying: ''You were right, it IS sweet.''.
''Aww you two are so cute!'' Sarah said.
''Is he okay?'' Ray asked pointing at Damian.
''Yeah.'' I replied. He was frozen. ''Damian?'' I said trying to get him to snap out of it.
''Huh?'' He replied.
''Are you okay?'' I asked.
''Yeah.'' he replied.

After about half an hour later it was starting to get late any we all had to head home. Damian offered to walk me home, we were alone now.

''Thanks for pretending to be my boyfriend for the evening.'' I said.
''Anything for you.'' He replied taking my hand.
''Ummm, you don't have to pretend to be my boyfriend anymore...'' I said blushing.
''I know...'' he replied with a slight blush on his face.
''You know, I've been thinking...'' I started.
''About what?'' he asked.
''Eather you're a very good actor, or you're hiding something from me.'' I said.
''Or maybe you're hiding something.'' He replied smirking at me.
''What?!'' I said.
''That time you kissed me earlier wasn't really needed back there.'' He said obviously enjoying himself.
''You kissed me first!'' I said.
''Everyone was kissing, besides, I gave you a peck on the lips, yours was a bit more.'' he stated.
''Let's just not talk about the kiss...'' I said trying to avoid the fact my best friend and I kissed, twice.
''Okay. But which one?'' He asked starting to laugh.
''Damian!'' I yelled while he was laughing his butt off. 
''Oh come on, I can't be THAT bad of a kisser.'' He said still laughing a bit.
''Well... You weren't really trying on the last one. You just froze while I did all the work.'' I started to laugh.
''Pardon me?'' He said ''I am a great kisser.''.
''I'll believe it when I see it.'' I said.
''Oh? Is that so?'' He asked putting his hand around my waist and held my hand with his other one pulling me closer. I was just about to say something but he stopped me when he pulled me into a deep kiss. I wrapped my hands around his neck and started playing with his hair. The kiss lasted a few minutes before he decided to pull away for air.
''Who's a bad kisser now?'' he said feeling proud of himself.
''Okay, I admit it. you're pretty good.'' I said still playing with his hair.
''Could you stop playing with my hair?'' he asked obviously uncomfortable with people touching his hair.
''Why should I?'' I said smirking.
''Because we're best friends?'' he answered.
''Really? Because I'm not sure anymore...'' I said as we sat on the near by park bench.
''What do you mean?'' he asked.
''I mean, we kissed like 3 times today.'' I said rubbing my hand.
''I don't know, I just want to know how you feel... about me.'' he said looking down.
''H-How I feel?'' I asked.
Damian started: ''I love you Rose, I've loved you for so long and I will love you as much as I do now. But you never look at me. You always go out with jerks that break your heart. I'm always there for you when you need me. You mean the world to me and all I'm asking you is to tell me if you feel the same way.'' 
''I really like you Damian. I never really thought of you that way before, but you made today perfect. You always make every day perfect. But I'm afraid for our friendship.'' I said.
''You and I both know that we can't be best friends once one of us confesses.'' he said.
''Well, maybe we could try to go out, but for real this time.'' I said looking at him.
''You really think we could work out as a couple?'' he asked looking at me.
''We can try...'' I said smiling at him before he pulled me into a big hug saying: ''You've just made the the luckiest guy in the world.''.
''I said we'll try dating, not a marriage proposal.'' I said laughing.
''Come on, we should get you home, your dad must be worried, plus he'll kill me if I get you home too late.'' He said as we continued to walk to my house.

After a few minutes we reached my house where we said our goodbyes and I gave Damian a good night kiss. I went upstairs preparing to go to sleep.

''Well, I know who I'll dream this night...'' I said blushing at the memory of Damian and me kissing...


Damian's POV

I'm dating Rose! I must be dreaming. Who could guess I of all would win the heart of the most beautiful maiden in all of the land. I walked to my house with a smile on my face and when I finally reached my house I saw my brother James waiting for me.

''I'm guessing on the count of your face that the date went well...'' James said leaning on the door.
''You have no idea...'' I said walking to my room.
''What? You're not even going to tell your big bro how your date went?'' he said pouting.
''I'll tell you tomorrow...'' I said.
''Okay.'' he said
''Good night James.'' I said.
''Good night Damian.'' he said.
